W. IT’S NOT TRUE INDEPENDENCE UNDER THE PROPOSED CURRENCY UNION AS THE BANK OF ENGLAND WILL SET INTEREST RATES AND FISCAL POLICY.
A. It’s a hell of a lot more independence than will ever be proposed by Westminster. Besides, the currency union need not be permanent in an independent Scotland. You can always vote for the party that most meets your needs and aspirations for an independent Scotland in March 2016 and forever more, safe in the knowledge that they will then have the power to make the changes you want.
W. THERE ARE TOO MANY UNCERTAINTIES IN THE YES CAMPAIGNS PROPOSAL.
A. There’s uncertainty in staying with Westminster too; especially as our votes are essentially meaningless. If that’s not enough reassurance, you can always vote for the party that most meets your needs and aspirations for an independent Scotland in March 2016 and forever more, safe in the knowledge that they will then have the power to make the changes you want.
W. I DON’T TRUST THE EU TO WORK IN OUR BEST INTERESTS.
A. Scotland will have an increased presence & influence in the EU with independence. Especially as we will control over 60% of the EU energy potential. And very valuable fishing waters. If that’s not enough reassurance, you can always vote for the party that most meets your needs and aspirations for an independent Scotland in March 2016 and forever more, safe in the knowledge that they will then have the power to make the changes you want.
W. I DON’T LIKE THE SNP / ALEX SALMOND
A. You can always vote for the party that most meets your needs and aspirations for an independent Scotland in March 2016 and forever more, safe in the knowledge that they will then have the power to make the changes you want.
W. I HATE YOUR STUPID FACE AND THINK YOUR MUSIC IS RUBBISH
A. You’ll still be free to listen to Coldplay in an independent Scotland. If that’s not enough reassurance, you can always vote for whatever Scottish X Factor singer most meets your needs and aspirations for an independent Scotland in March 2016 and forever more, safe in the knowledge that they will then have the power to make the music you want.
We need to regain the focus of this debate. All of the major political parties have been allowed to set the discussion based on party lines for too long. This referendum is much more fundamental than that. We are making a decision on whether the Scottish Parliament should have the power to enact the electorates mandate or not.
Every other issue stems from that. With independence, we can change the system when it doesn’t work. Without independence, we can’t. Simple as that.
